Insert main shaft (29) into mounting plate

Remove reverse gear gearwheel (48) and needle roller bearing (47)

Remove retaining ring (46)

Remove synchronizer body (45), gearwheel for 1st gear (44) and needle bearing (43)

 In event of any sluggishness,  remove using puller.

Remove synchronizer cone (41), synchronizer ring (40), synchronizer cone (39) and driver (42)

Remove sliding sleeve (38), compression springs (6) and thrust pieces (7)

 To prevent the compression springs (6) and thrust pieces (7) from springing out in an uncontrolled manner, cover up sliding sleeve (38) and synchronizer body (36) with a cloth, and carefully lift up sliding sleeve (38).

Remove retaining ring (37)

Remove synchronizer body (36)

Remove synchronizer cone (35), synchronizer ring (34), synchronizer cone (33) and driver (32)

Remove gearwheel for 2nd gear (31) and needle bearing (30) from main shaft (29)

Remove main shaft (29) from mounting plate and clamp with power take-off end on gearing in clamping device


Use soft vise jaws.
Otherwise the main shaft (29) will be damaged.

Remove retaining springs

Remove synchronizer ring (1) and synchronizer cone (2) from main shaft (29)

Remove sliding sleeve (3), compression springs (6) and thrust pieces (7)

 To prevent the compression springs (6) and thrust pieces (7) from springing out in an uncontrolled manner, cover up sliding sleeve (3) and synchronizer body (5) with a cloth, and carefully lift up sliding sleeve (3).

Remove retaining ring (4)

Remove synchronizer body (5)

Remove synchronizer ring (8) and synchronizer cone (9)

Remove gearwheel for 6th gear (10) and needle bearing (11)

Remove retaining ring (12)

Position a suitable three-arm puller on sliding sleeve (20) and detach synchronizer unit approx. 10 mm

 This enables the thrust plate (13) to be removed.

Remove thrust plate(13)

Remove gearwheel for 4th gear (14), needle bearing (16), synchronizer cone (17), synchronizer ring (18), synchronizer cone (19) and driver (15)

Remove sliding sleeve (20), compression springs (6) and thrust pieces (7)

 To prevent the compression springs (6) and thrust pieces (7) from springing out in an uncontrolled manner, cover up sliding sleeve (20) and synchronizer body (22) with a cloth, and carefully lift up sliding sleeve (20).

Remove retaining ring (21)

Remove synchronizer body (22)

Remove synchronizer cone (23), synchronizer ring (24) and synchronizer cone (25)

Remove driver (26)

29

Remove gearwheel for 3rd gear (27) and needle bearing (28) from main shaft (29)

30

Check synchronizer rings (1, 8, 18, 24, 34, 40) for wear
