Remove

Remove transmission.

Fasten transmission onto assembly stand.

Remove gearshift shaft.

Disassemble transmission housing.

Remove main shaft and countershaft with shift unit.

Disassemble

Remove bearing (5).

 Unscrew hexagon socket from counter stay.

Remove radial shaft sealing ring (1).


Do not position lever between radial shaft sealing ring (1) and seat.
If the seat is damaged, the rear section of the transmission housing (4) must be replaced.

Remove bolts (9) and remove lock washers (8).

Remove bearing (7).

Remove reverse idler axle (14) and reverse idler gear (12).

Remove bearing (15).

 Puller, 28-37 mm dia.

Remove screw plug (19) and remove guide pin (18) with washers (17).

Remove sleeve (16).

Remove bolt (2) and remove backup light switch (S19).



Clean

Clean seats and bearing seats.

Loctite 7063 (400 ml) cleaning spray

Assemble

Install backup light switch (S19).

 Replace bolt (2) and sealing ring (3).

Press-in new bearing (5).

 Drift

Coat sealing lip of new radial shaft sealing ring (1) with transmission oil and press-in up to end stop.



Gear oils (Sheet 235.10)

Press in new bearing (7) as far as end stop.

 The chamfer on the outer bearing race must point toward the main shaft.

Press in bearing (15) up to end stop.

Install lock washers (8).

 Replace bolts (9).

 Screw/bolt, locking plate for countershaft bearing, main shaft bearing or drive shaft bearing to transmission housing

Install reverse idler axle (14) and reverse idler gear (12).

Install sleeve (16).

Install guide pin (18) with washers (17).

 Replace screw plug (19).

Install

Install main shaft and countershaft with shift unit.
