Remove/install

Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key

Open engine hood

Remove engine cover

 Installation: Ensure correct seating.

Remove engine air intake duct upstream of air filter

Drain coolant at radiator

Remove retaining clip (1)

7

Pull out cover (2) on fan unit (3) upwards and remove

 Installation: Ensure that cover (2) is seated correctly.

Unclip vent line (4) from fan unit (3)

Detach coolant hose (5) on radiator

 Installation:
Check sealing rings and catch springs for damage, thoroughly clean connections but do not grease and ensure exact seating of the catch springs.
Leaks can occur on the engine otherwise.

Disconnect electrical connection (6) on fan unit (3)

Disconnect electrical connection (7) from radiator shutters actuator motor.

If installed.

Unclip A/T oil cooler at fan unit (3) and place with attached lines to one side

Do not bend or kink oil cooling lines.
Leaks and damage can occur otherwise.

Remove clamps on the left and right on fan unit (3) to the rear

Remove fan unit (3) upwards

 Installation: Ensure that fan unit (3) is seated correctly at the side and below in the cooler.

Install in the reverse order



Check

Check engine cooling system for leaktightness
