Warning | Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant. | Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
1 | Drain the coolant up to approximately the level height of the thermostat valves
Topical note | Notes on coolant
| Replace coolant | . | |
Catch the coolant, change it if necessary.
2 | Remove the paneling plates of the body in the radiator compartment in order to make possible the removal. | See the body manufacturer instructions
3 | Remove the air filter housing and air intake |
| |
4 | Remove the clamp bolts (1, 4 and 6) and disconnect the cooling system hoses | Check the condition of hoses and clamps, replace if necessary
5 | Drain cooling system coolant
| Replace coolant | . | |
Collect the coolant properly, replace it if necessary
6 | Remove the clamp hoses of the charge air after-cooler hoses (5/7)
Notes on the installation of charge air hoses downstream of the charge air cooler
The red hose should be installed between the turbocharger and the aftercooler
Installation: Check the conditions of the hoses of the aftercooler, replace them if necessary. Do not invert the hoses
.Fastening of the clamps on the inlet and outlet flexible hoses
7 | Remove the mounting bolts (2) from air baffle | .Air baffler fastening bolts to radiator
8 | Position the air deflector (3) next the fan wheel so that it is possible to remove the radiator
9 | Remove the rubber lining (8) between the radiator and the aftercooler and between the radiator (9) and the air baffle (10) | The rubber lining are made to force air through the radiators, increasing thermal efficiency
10 | Tilt the lower radiator housing to enable its removal | Remove/install radiator grille
11 | Remove the aftercooler (10) and the radiator (9) | Be careful to not damage the radiator and the aftercooler.
Check the radiator and the aftercooler conditions. In case of damage, repair or replace them.
12 | Install in reverse order
13 | Fill up with coolant and check the coolant level, correct if necessary
| Engine cooling system - check fluid level, adjust to correct level. Inspect anticorrosion/antifreeze protection, adjust to correct concentration | . | |
14 | Check the tightness of the cooling system |
