6 | Turn poly-V belt tensioning device (9) with breaker bar and socket (8) in pivoting direction (arrow A) and remove poly-V belt (12) | Installation: Inspect condition of poly-V belt (12), replace if necessary. | |

8 | Detach coolant line (14) at coolant pump (13) | Installation: Install new gasket | |

9 | Remove sealing rings (20) and both coolant thermostats (21) | Installation: Install new sealing rings (20). Observe installation position of coolant thermostat (21). The vent opening (arrow B) must point upwards. | |
10 | Detach coolant line (17) at coolant pump (13) | Installation: Install new gasket | |
11 | Remove bracket (10) from coolant pump (13) and charge air pipe | | |

14 | Loosen crankcase ventilation hose (2) from oil separator (1) | ||
15 | Unscrew connection fitting (7) from connection piece (3) | Installation: Replace sealing ring. | |
16 | Remove coolant line (18) from coolant pump (13) and oil filter housing (19) | Only on vehicles with code (MS5) BlueTec 5. | |

17 | Remove coolant pump (13) together with connection piece (3) | Push bracket on crankcase breather line to side. | |
Installation: Replace seals. Position coolant pump (13) with lower bolts, install connection piece (3) on connection fitting (22) and tighten together with coolant pump (13). Also tighten bracket on crankcase ventilation hose (2). | |||

19 | Pull out connection fittings (22) | Installation: Grease sealings ring on new connection fitting (22). | |
20 | Clean sealing surfaces on coolant pump (13), connection fitting (3) and coolant line (14) | ||
