Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove vacuum valve (3)

except code MO3 (Engine OM 607 DE 15 LA 81 kW (110 hp) 4000 rpm)

To do this remove screw/bolts (2), vacuum hose and disconnect electrical connection.

Remove coolant hoses (4, 5)

Disconnect electrical connection (6)

Remove coolant thermostat (1)

To do this, remove screw/bolts (7).

Installation: Replace seal.

Bolt, coolant thermostat housing to cylinder head

Install in the reverse order

Check

Check engine cooling system for leaktightness
