Coolant pump

 Warning

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove

Drain off coolant

Slacken poly-V-belt for rear belt drive and basic belt drive and remove poly-V-belt for basic belt drive from belt pulley (1) for coolant pump (4)

Remove belt pulley (1) for coolant pump (4)

Disconnect electrical connectors (2, 3)

Only for regulated coolant pump (4).

Remove coolant pump (4) and take off seal



Install

Clean sealing surfaces

Install coolant pump (4) with a new seal

 Bolt, coolant pump to oil/coolant module

Connect electrical connections (2, 3)

Only for regulated coolant pump (4).

Attach belt pulley (1) to with new screw/bolts at the coolant pump (4)

 Bolt, belt pulley to uncontrolled coolant pump

Check condition of poly-V-belt of basic belt drive and poly-V-belt of rear belt drive



Remove/install basic belt drive poly-V belt

Remove/install fan drive poly-V belt (rear belt)

Place poly-V-belt of basic belt drive onto belt pulley (1) of coolant pump (4) and tension poly-V-belts of rear belt drive and basic belt drive

Fill in coolant

Start engine and perform an engine test run; stop engine

 Allow engine to run at a higher rotational speed.

Check area around the coolant pump (4) for leaktightness

 Visual inspection.
