| Open the engine access cover
| For buses, the access to carry out maintenance and repair jobs vary according to body type/make.
|
|
|
|
| Refer to the body makers instructions.
|
|

| Disconnect the battery leads
|
|
|
3
| Disconnect the electric lines (1) and (2) of the starter
|
|
|

| Remove the nuts (3) and the washers (4)
| Tighten the nuts (3).
|
|
|

| Remove starter (M1)
| Replace ring gear on flywheel

| Check the steering wheel toothed rack for eventual wear. Replace it if necessary.
|
|
|
|
| Check the starter pinion for eventual wear. If necessary, repair the starter.
|
|
|
|
| Lubricate the starter pinion and the steering wheel toothed rack with a long-life grease.
