Remove/install

1

Remove exhaust gas recirculation cooler

Remove mixing chamber

Remove center and rear section of lower engine compartment paneling

Remove screw/bolts (2) and remove bracket (1)

5

Detach fuel hose (3) at high-pressure pump

 Installation: Check clamp for damage and replace if necessary.

Seal connections using suitable stop plugs

 Record plug

Detach exhaust flap switchover valve (Y93) from holder (6) and place with attached lines to one side

Place screw/bolts (4, 5) and bracket (6) as well as wiring harness to one side

 Bolt, exhaust gas recirculation valve bracket to exhaust gas recirculation valve

 Bolt, exhaust gas recirculation valve bracket to cylinder crankcase

Disconnect electrical connection (7) on exhaust gas recirculation actuator (Y27/9)

Unclip vacuum hose (8)

Remove screw/bolt (9) and exhaust gas recirculation actuator (Y279) with bypass flap for exhaust gas recirculation

 Installation:
Replace seals.
Leaks may occur otherwise.

 Bolt, exhaust gas recirculation valve (valve housing) to exhaust gas recirculation line

Install in the reverse order



Check engine cooling system for leaktightness
