Remove/install

Remove upper engine cover

Detach exhaust gas recirculation cooler, swivel with attached coolant lines upwards and fix in place

Remove screw/bolts (2) and take off EGR line (3)

 Installation: Replace seal.

 Bolt, exhaust gas recirculation line to charge air distributor

 Screw/bolt, exhaust gas recirculation line to valve housing

Remove screw/bolts (4)

 Bolt, charge air manifold to charge air distribution line

Disconnect electrical connection (5)

Detach clamp (6) with engine wiring harness at mixing chamber (9)

 Installation: Attach cable bracket (6) at the same position again.

Remove screw/bolts (7) and place bracket to one side

 If necessary place the vacuum line to one side until the screw/bolts (7) are accessible on the left side of the mixing chamber (9).

 Bolt, charge air manifold to charge air line

Unscrew screw/bolts (8) and take off mixing chamber (9)


Protect openings with clean rags from falling small parts. Parts which have dropped into the charge air pipe must be removed.
Engine damage can occur otherwise.

 Installation: Replace seals.
