Remove

Remove upper engine cover

Unfasten charge air cooler and place with attached lines and coolant hoses to one side

Release clamping device (1) counterclockwise and lock clamping device (1) using a suitable drift (5)

Take off poly-V belt



Check

Check poly-V belt for damage

If damage is present



Replace poly-V belt.

Check belt pulley of A/C compressor for damage

with code 580 (Air-conditioning system)
Engine 276 in model 172
with code 581 (Automatic air conditioning)

If damage is present



Replace A/C compressor.

If damage is present

Replace alternator belt pulley.

Replace belt pulley/vibration damper.

Replace clamping device (1).

Fit on poly-V belt

Do not use belt wax or similar products.
This leads to slipping of the poly-V belt (8).

 Observe routing diagram of poly-V belt.

Pull out drift (5) and tension poly-V belt with clamping device (1)
