	Removing
1.1	Remove wheelhousing liner in right rear fender	 Except 450.418.	AR88.10-P-1400SM
2	Pull out the spreader pin on the clip (1) and remove the belt cover (2)
3	Remove alternator cover	Model 450.3 with Engine 160.910, 660.940 up to 14.11.99	AR15.40-P-5032-02SM
		Model 450.3 with Engine 160.910, 660.940 as of 15.11.99, Model 450.3 with Engine 160.920, Model 450.4	AR15.40-P-5032-02SN
4	Slacken alternator bolt (3) on the assembly carrier and the alternator nut (4) on the bracket (5)	 Do not remove poly-V belt (6) when the engine is warm.

5	Remove poly-V belt (6)
	Install
6	Fit on poly-V belt (6)	 Inspect poly-V belt (6) for wear and damage
7	Tension poly-V belts (6) via adjusting screw (7) at alternator	 The alternator must be easy to swivel before tensioning begins. For the first assembly, apply a torque of approx. 45 Nm, for a reassembly, apply a torque of approx. 40 Nm to the adjusting screw (7) using a torque wrench (8).
8	Tighten the alternator nut (4) at the bracket (5)	 The poly-V belt (6) must be tensioned via the adjusting screw (7) using a torque wrench (8).

9	Tighten the alternator bolt (3) at the assembly carrier	Engine 660: 

	Checking
10	Crank engine 3 times by hand and check the pre-tension of the poly-V belt (6)	 Use the gauge (poly-V belt tension) (9) at the area illustrated only. Crank the engine further by hand and check a number of times. Adjustment value for initial assembly of the poly-V belt: 450 N. Adjustment value for re-assembly of the poly-V belt: 410 N.
