 Warning

Use only approved tensioning devices; additionally screen off hazardous area if necessary. Check special tools for damage and proper operation (visual inspection). Wear protective gloves.

Remove

Remove the fan poly-V belt (1).

Swivel tensioner pulley of tensioning device (2) downwards and hold.

In the case of a tensioning device (2) without a blocking hole.

2.2

Block the clamping device (2) with a suitable pin.

In the case of a tensioning device (2) with a blocking hole.

Remove alternator poly-V belt (3) from tensioning device tensioner pulley (2).

Swivel back tensioner pulley of tensioning device (2).

Only in the case of a tensioning device (2) without a blocking hole.

Push the fan forwards and connect it.

Only if required.

Remove alternator poly-V-belt (3).



Check

Check alternator poly-V-belt (3) for wear and damage.



If damage or wear is discernible,



Replace alternator poly-V-belt (3).

Check the belt pulleys, the vibration damper, guide pulleys and tensioner pulleys for damage and smooth operation.

If damage or poor concentricity is discernible,



Replace the relevant belt pulley, vibration damper, guide pulley and/or tensioner pulley.



Install

Position the alternator poly-V-belt (3) on belt pulleys and guide pulleys.

Mount alternator poly-V-belt (3) on tensioner pulley of tensioning device (2).

Tension the alternator poly-V belt (3) by releasing the tensioner pulley.

In the case of a tensioning device (2) without a blocking hole.

Tension the alternator poly-V belt (3) by pulling out the pin.

In the case of a tensioning device (2) with a blocking hole.

Install the fan poly-V belt (1).
