Engine 111.973: Loosen coolant expansion reservoir, loosen charge air hoses, loosen engine mount and raise engine at front lifting eye added.

Remove/install

Remove air filter

 Disconnect suction and pressure line at compressor and close openings at compressor.

Loosen coolant expansion reservoir and place to one side

Disconnect valve for secondary air injection (50/4) at intake connection fitting and detach vacuum hose (50/5)

Remove cover on sensor panel upstream of cylinder head

Disconnect connector for electromagnetic clutch

Remove fan shroud

 Installation: Adjust fan shroud to the center.

Remove poly-V belt on supercharger

Check poly-V-belt and belt pulley for damage and replace if necessary



Check visible area of poly-V belt for wear

Remove bottom engine compartment paneling

Loosen charge air hoses at charge air cooler

Remove engine mount bolts at frame crossmember

Raise engine at front lifting eye

 Ensure that rear of the engine does not touch the body.

Do not overstretch coolant hoses.

Observe the tension on the hose connected to the power steering pump and loosen if necessary.

Remove pressure connection from compressor

Hold aside the coolant hose from radiator to coolant pump

 Do not damage coolant hose and radiator.

Remove compressor

 Lift compressor and remove at the top.

 Installation: Insert bottom mounting bolts into compressor prior to installation.


