 Install the dial gauge (3) and the  extension in the  dial gauge support (4).

 Position the dial gauge support (4) on a flat place in the chassis.

Align and overlap the tip of the  extension and the  dial gauge (3) with a per-tension of 5 mm on the rotor axle (1).

Compress the rotor axle (1) until the stop (arrow) and hold it.

Set the scale of the  dial gauge (3) in zero.

Distend the rotor axle (1) in opposite direction until the installation (arrow) and hold it.

Read the measured value.

 The measured value is the axial play of the rotor axle.

Check the rotor axle radial play

Compress the wheel of the compressor (2) until the side stop (arrow) and determine the smaller play with the touch probe dial indicator (5).

Compress the wheel of the compressor (2) to the opposite side until the side stop (arrow) and determine the greater play with the touch probe dial indicator (5). 

 Both measures must be performed at the same place in the compressor housing and in the same flank of the compressor wheel. The radial play is the result of the difference between both results of the measurement.
