Remove/install nozzle holder combination

Removing

Danger!

Risk of explosion caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel and risk of injury to eyes and skin caused by contact with fuel.

No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.
Only pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

Remove service cover

Remove cylinder head cover

Remove injection line

Unscrew pressure screw (9) and remove pressure pipe connection (8)

Undo bolt (4) and remove retaining clamp (5)

Attach threaded insert (2) with impact extractor (3) to nozzle holder combination (1) and detach nozzle holder combination (1)

 Use a shortened impact extractor (3) on the first and second cylinder to detach nozzle holder combination (1).



Take off threaded insert (2) and extractor (3) at the nozzle holder combination (1)



Take nozzle holder combination (1) out of cylinder head

 Do not disassemble nozzle holder assembly (1)

Remove sealing ring (7) at nozzle holder combination (1)



Install

Clean nozzle holder combination (1) and perform visual inspection

 Only when reinstalling the worn nozzle holder combination (1).

Clean contact surface for sealing ring (7) at nozzle holder combination (1) using a brass brush.

In the case of complaint replace nozzle holder combination (1).

Install new O-ring (6) in the nozzle holder combination (1) and coat with grease

 Only when reinstalling the worn nozzle holder combination (1).

Place new seal (7) on nozzle holder combination (1)

 The small ring surface on sealing ring (7) must point towards nozzle holder combination (1).

Install nozzle holder combinations (1)

 Insert retaining clip (5) in guide for nozzle holder combination (1). Turn nozzle holder combination (1) with the clamp (5) in cylinder head until the interference-fit ball (arrow) in clamp (5) is aligned with locating element in end cover (11) of the constant throttle.

Tighten retaining clip (5) with bolt (4)



Install new O-ring (10) on pressure pipe connection (8) and coat lightly with grease

Install pressure pipe connection (8) and tighten thrust bolt (9)



Install cylinder head cover

 Only install engine cover after inspecting for leaks.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Conduct engine test run, stop engine and check for leaks in area of injection line connectors on pressure pipe connection (8) and unit pump

 Crank engine with starter for maximum 90 seconds. Wait at least for about 2 minutes before repeating attempt at starting.
The fuel system is bled automatically.
