Remove/install

Position piston of cylinder 1 to ignition TDC

Rotate engine at crankshaft. Do not rotate engine at the camshaft sprocket bolt. Do not crank engine back.
Markings on camshaft/camshaft bearing cap (arrows) must be aligned.

Remove front cover at cylinder head (6)

Raise locking pawl (7) of top slide rail (8).

Lock intake camshaft

Insert retaining pin through the 1st. camshaft bearing cap into the hole of the intake camshaft gear.

Remove chain tensioner (2)

Installation: Replace sealing ring (3).

Unbolt driver (10) of intake camshaft sprocket

17 mm hexagon socket 3/8 inch square

Take off top slide rail (8)

Install in the reverse order

Wear closed and close-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
