Remove oil filter element and check slats of oil filter element from outside for metal abrasion and swollen condition

Only if there is advanced wear or damage to engine components.

Replace oil-water heat exchanger

Only if there is metal grit on the oil filter element lamella or in the engine oil circuit.

Remove, check and replace oil spray nozzle, if necessary

Only if piston was damaged.

Remove oil pump, disassemble and check for wear and damage by means of a visual inspection

Only removed if an increased amount of metal grit was found on oil filter element lamella.
