| |||
9.1 | Unbolt exhaust (28) at exhaust manifold and transmission intermediate bearing | Engine 604, 605
10 | Unscrew oil pan bolts (19, 19a) | Installation: For automatic transmission (code 420a, 425a) observe bracket for automatic transmission oil lines (13) and transmission wiring harness (15, 16).
Pay attention to different lengths and diameters of bolts!
Engines 604, 605, 606, bolting diagram for oil pan
Align oil pan (24) to rear contact surface on transmission. If the oil pan is not aligned to the transmission, this can result in noise and vibration problems.
| |||
| |||
11 | Raise engine | | |
Ensure that the injection line is not damaged when attaching to front engine lifting eyes Do not apply tension to the coolant hoses, if necessary, release the radiator from the supports.
12 | Remove oil pan (24) together with oil gasket (25) | Model 202: in the event of long oil baffle at the oil pan, the oil pump must be dismantle if the oil pan is drained.
Remove oil pump Take oil pan down and out in direction of travel; rotate crankshaft slightly, if necessary, for this step. If automatic transmission fitted, push ATF lines slightly to the side. Clean contact surfaces of oil pan. Replace gasket (25) of oil pan. Installation: Fix gasket of oil pan (25) to crankcase with grease if necessary. Pay attention to the fitted sleeve (17)! If oil pan is replaced, screw on the oil level sensor using self-tapping screws.
