Measure

Remove cylinder head for cylinder in question

Clean cylinder liner collar and crankcase

Fit on insertion device (2) and press into cylinder liner (1)

Use a commercially available open end wrench, size 24 mm, without an extension.

Install dial indicator (4) with preload in the dial indicator holder (3)



Mount dial indicator holder (3) on the contact surface of the crankcase and set scale of dial indicator (4) to "0"

Measure protrusion (A) of cylinder liner (1) from cylinder liner collar to crankcase

 Conduct measurements at four measuring points (B) and note values on the measurement sheet.

Set scale of dial indicator (4) to "0" before every measurement.

Compare noted values of protrusions (A) of the cylinder liner (1)

 Calculate the difference of the protrusions (A) at all four measuring points (B) per cylinder liner (1). If the value deviates from specification, remove the associated cylinder liner (1) and install an appropriate seal ring:


