Open rear lid

Shut off fuel feed

If there is a shutoff valve (5). If there is no shutoff valve, ensure that no fuel flows subsequently.

Drain fuel at the drain valve (1)

Use a suitable receptacle. Dispose off the dirty fuel mixture in a non-polluting manner.

Disconnect electrical connector (4)

Detach the water separator (2)

Installation: Clean the water separator (2) from inside; in case of damage, replace if required.

Detach the prefilter element (3)

If it is difficult to turn, unscrew using universal strap wrench.

Installation: Oil the gasket; tighten the prefilter element (3) by hand.

Start engine and check fuel system for leaks

If the engine does not start after 30 s,
wait 1 min. before repeating attempt at starting.
