Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.
Pour fuels only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

Loosen cap on filler neck of fuel tank

Remove the filter cap (1) with the filter insert (3)

After the filter cap is unscrewed the fuel flows out of the filter housing (5) back into the fuel tank. Only remove the filter cap (1) with the filter insert (3) after the entire quantity of fuel has run out of the filter housing.

Unclip filter element (3) by sideways pressure on the filter cap (1)

Dispose of the filter element as per legal environmental provisions.

Withdraw the dirt collecting container (4) from the filter housing (5) at the shackles

The dirt which has deposited collected in the dirt collecting container must not get into the filter housing. Ensure that no foreign objects fall into the filter housing. The filter housing must not be wiped out.

Remove sealing ring (2) from filter cap (1)

Clean filter cap (1) and dirt collecting container (4)

Install

Insert the dirt collecting container (4) in filter housing (5)

Coat sealing ring (2) with engine oil and attach to the filter cap (1)

Use new sealing ring.

Clip new filter element (3) into the filter cap (1)

Insert filter cap (1) with filter element (3) in the filter housing (5) and tighten

Close cap on fuel tank

Checking

Start engine and allow to idle

The fuel system is bled automatically.

Check fuel filter for leaktightness

Turn off engine
