1 Indicator disk
2 Brake camshaft
3 Pointer of indicator disk
4 Marking on housing of linkage adjuster
| Check | ||
1 | Inspect notches of indicator disk (1) and of brake camshaft (2) to ensure they are aligned
2 | Inspect position of brake camshafts at indicator disks (1) | The position of the indicator disk (1) alters in the direction of rotation of the brake camshaft as a result of brake lining wear and automatic re-setting of the linkage adjuster. The maximum working travel (effective travel) of the brake camshaft is reached once the pointer of the indicator disk (3) is aligned with the marking (4) on the housing of the linkage adjuster.
3.1 | Replace brake linings | When the maximum travel is indicated at one brake camshaft, even if the wear limit has not yet been reached. |
