Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Apply the parking brake

 Apply the parking brake and run the engine until the pneumatic pressure gauge indicates the pressure of 10 bar. The pneumatic pressure gauge indicates the respective working pressures of the front and rear service brake circuits.

Turn the ignition key

 Turn the ignition key completely back to the off position.

 Wait about 5 seconds and turn the ignition key to the drive position.

Check the brake circuits for air leaks

 If after 3 minutes, there is not a visible pressure drop in no of the brake circuits. The system can be considered "without leaks".

Check for air leaks with the parking brake released

 Chock The wheels to prevent that vehicle moves.

 Release the parking brake and run the engine until the pneumatic pressure gauge indicates the pressure of 10 bar.

Turn the ignition key

 Turn the ignition key completely back to the off position.

 Wait about 5 seconds and turn the ignition key to the drive position.

Actuate the brake pedal

 The brake pedal should be actuated just enough for an partial application of the brake, about 1/2 of the pedal travel. Keep the pedal actuated in this position for at least 3 minutes. The system can be considered without leaks if there is not a visible pressure drop after the end of the 3 minutes.
