Open filter housing only to replace the filter cartridge!

Inspecting

Inspect position of indicator disk in the indicator windows (1) of the maintenance indicator

All engines: If the red colored zone of the indicator disk is fully visible (indicator disk locked):

Replace filter cartridge

Naturally-aspirated engines: If the red colored zone of the indicator disk is not visible, inspect maintenance indicator with engine running

Danger!

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury from bruises and burns if you hold your hand into engine when it is started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it moving off by itself.
Wear closed and close-fitting work clothes.
Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.

Start engine and rev up to maximum speed

If the red colored zone does not lock or if the red colored hone of the indicator disk is partially visible:

Replace filter cartridge

Press pushbutton (2) to reset the maintenance indicator
