When replacing the complete rear axle differential the removed rear axle differential is returned along with the oil sample to the factory. This complete rear axle differential is examined accurately to enable the reason for the failure to be determined. The oil sample from the removed rear axle differential contains vital information on the processes that were underway in the rear axle differential until it failed.

The oil sample volume must be at least 100 ml, and it must not be taken immediately after the first stream once the drain screw has been removed. The oil sample is to be included in the return delivery
