The fuel tank (75) is manufactured from sheet steel.

Fuel tank function

Engine 285.950: The fuel is drawn in through a fuel strainer. Fuel flows back from the overflow valve in the fuel filter via a suction jet pump in the swirl pot into the fuel tank. A vent line leads from the air admission system in the fuel tank to the activated charcoal canister.
