Remove/install

Move front seat and backrest (1) forward

Disconnect battery ground line

Unhook tabs for backrest cover (2) from backrest frame and under seat cushion

Loosen backrest cover (2) until nuts (7) are accessible

Unscrew nuts (7) and remove ground line (8)

 Nut, sidebag to backrest

Detach sidebag unit (3), as shown, from backrest frame


Do not tug on cover of sidebag unit (3).
Otherwise, the cover of the sidebag unit (3) may become damaged.

Disconnect Electrical connection (9)

Remove sidebag unit (3)

Dispose of sidebag unit (3) properly

When replacing sidebag unit (3).

Install in the reverse order



Check

Check Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) with diagnostic system

When replacing sidebag unit (3).


