Left rear lamp unit (E3) and right rear lamp unit (E4)

Remove expansion clip (5) below left rear lamp unit (E3) and right rear lamp unit (E4)

 Danger !

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove fender liner in left rear fender and fender liner in right rear fender

Unscrew bolts (3) and bolts (4)

Remove rear bumper (1) in area of left rear lamp unit (E3) and right rear lamp unit (E4) until electrical connectors (13) are accessible

 The number of electrical connectors (13) depends on the vehicle equipment.

 Helper required.

Disconnect electrical connector (13)

Remove rear bumper (1)

Remove left license plate lamp (E19/1) and right license plate lamp (E19/2) from rear bumper (1)

When replacing rear bumper (1).

Remove right, left and center rear parking system distance sensor (B8/8, B8/9 and B8/10) from rear bumper (1)

with CODE 220 (Parking Assist)
When replacing rear bumper (1).

Install in the reverse order

Check gap dimensions on rear bumper (1), correct if necessary
