Remove steering wheel

Remove ignition switch covering (67).

Unscrew bolts (32h) until fanfare horns and airbag clock spring contact (A45) can be removed.

 The bolts act at the same time as an anti-twist guard and assembly aid.



Unlplug clock spring contact and airbag connector (A45x1) and clock spring contact and fanfare horn system relay connector (A45x2).

Remove fanfare horns and airbag clock spring contact (A45) from jacket tube

 Carefully remove fanfare horns and airbag clock spring contact (A45) - risk of damaging.

 Installation: Guide cable to clock spring contact and airbag connector (A45x1) and clock spring contact and fanfare horn system relay connector (A45x2) through jacket tube covering.

 Installation: Push on the fanfare horns and airbag clock spring contact (A45) as far as the stop, whereby the recess must align with the fixing lug (arrows).

 If the clock spring contact was twisted

e.g. with steering coupling removed: 

Adjust center position of clock spring contact.
