Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury caused by brake fluid coming into contact with skin and eyes.

Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid.

Unscrew lid from brake fluid reservoir

Remove front wheels

Press back brake piston approx. 3 mm. For this purpose, pull the upper section of the brake caliper towards the outside of the vehicle

 This clearance is required so that the upper section of the brake caliper does not stick on the rivets on the back of the brake pads when folding up.

Remove bolt (2), fold upper section of brake caliper (1) upwards and remove brake pads (4)



 Wear limit for brake linings.

 Installation: Remove remains of the self-locking coating from brake caliper (5) using thread tap M8 Rub in a thin film of brake pad paste at the side guides and piston contact surfaces of the carrier plate of the brake pads.

 Replace bolt (2).

 Only brake pad kits approved by Mercedes Benz must be installed.

 Brake pads are to be disposed of as special waste. The local authorities can provide information regarding whether disposal is also permitted as industrial waste similar to domestic waste.

Push back piston.

 In order to avoid damage to the dust boot when installing the brake pads it is essential to ensure that after pressing back the piston the dust boot is completely folded in and does not project anywhere

Install in the reverse order

Build up brake pressure

 Operate brake pedal several times.

Check brake fluid level in reservoir and correct if necessary


