 Danger

Risk of death from lowering vehicle when working between wheels and body. Risk of injury from pinching or crushing when working on the air suspension.

Testing and repair work between the wheel and wheel arch or in the wheel well should only be performed if the vehicle is secured using suitable support fixtures to prevent it from lowering.
Adjustment operations should only be performed from underneath the vehicle.
Use only suitable support fixtures to secure the vehicle frame or vehicle axles in order to prevent them from lowering.
If necessary, additionally use suitable support fixtures in order to prevent other moving vehicle parts that are in the working area from lowering, or use suitable retaining devices to prevent these parts from moving suddenly and without warning.
Secure areas with moving vehicle parts against unauthorized access.

Chock the rear wheels and apply the parking brake

Support the front axle (1)

 At this point, lift the vehicle and support the stringers on appropriate trestles safety placed so that the struts are not forced and may be removed.

Support the pneumatic bellows bracket (2) on both sides

 This prevents all suspension components (suspension brackets, bellows, anti-roll bar, struts) from being supported by the damper.

 Use the appropriate hydraulic device (3) and properly support it to facilitate the removal of the retaining screws (4).

Remove the front wheels

 After a test drive, retighten the wheel lock nuts.

Disconnect the brake flexible hose (5)

 Seal the ends of the hose, to prevent dirt from entering.

Disconnect the steering bar from the steering arm

Release the diagonal lower struts (6) from the trestle (7) on the front axle

Loosen the screws (4) from the pneumatic suspension (2) bracket

Lower the axle (1) and remove it carefully

 Use device to remove and install front axles - EE-020

Install in reverse order

 Installation: After the axle is installed, the vehicle should be subjected to a full turning angle and alignment adjustment.
