Remove

1

Remove transmission from engine.

 See information from body manufacturer.

Slide centering pin (3) into guide bearing (11) in flywheel (4).

Loosen bolts (2).

 Loosen bolts (2) in small increments in a crosswise pattern. This prevents any one-sided strain on the clutch pressure plate unit (1).

Mount assembly device (9) onto clutch pressure plate (8).



Remove bolts (2) .

Lift out clutch pressure plate (8) using assembly device (9).

Remove clutch plate (5).

Remove assembly device (9).

Only when replacing the clutch pressure plate unit (1).

Check clutch parts for wear and damage.

Clean

Clean profile grooves in clutch plate (5).

Only when reusing the clutch plate (5).


Do not apply grease to nickel plated hub surface of clutch plate (5).
Otherwise, the clutch plate (5) may jam.

Clean sleeve in release bearing (10).

Only when reusing the clutch pressure plate (8).

Clean guide bearing (11) in flywheel (4), guide tube on transmission and hub profile of transmission input shaft.


Do not grease the transmission input shaft.
Otherwise, the clutch plate (7) may jam.



Install

Slide centering pin (3) into guide bearing (11) in flywheel (4).

Center clutch plate (5) via centering pin (3) on flywheel (4).

Mount assembly device (9) onto clutch pressure plate unit (1).

Only when replacing the clutch pressure plate unit (1).



 Before installation of the new clutch pressure plate unit (1) check whether the diaphragm spring reeds are correctly seated into the clutch bearing (10).

Install assembled clutch pressure plate unit (1) with assembly device (9) via centering pin (3).

 A new clutch pressure plate unit (1) is supplied in adjusted form.

Tighten bolts (2) crosswise in small steps.

 When securing, check several times at   centering pin (3) that this can still be moved easily.

Remove assembly device (9).

Pull out centering pin (3).

Attach transmission to engine.

 See information from body manufacturer.

Connect vehicle diagnosis system and run quick test.

 See information from body manufacturer.

Teach in clutch travel in drive control (FR) control unit.

Only when replacing the clutch pressure plate (8) or the clutch plate (5).

Remove vehicle diagnosis system.
