Removing

Swivel tensioner for tensioning device (1) upwards and hold in this position.

Remove poly-V belt (3)

The poly-V belt (3) must not be kinked during removal since it can be damaged otherwise.

Swivel tensioner pulley for tensioning device (1) back again

Checking

Check condition of poly-V belt (3); replace poly-V belt (3) if necessary

Check running surface for poly-V belt on vibration damper for damage and wear

Replace vibration damper if necessary:

Remove/install vibration damper

Inspect belt pulley of alternator for damage and wear

Replace belt pulley if necessary:

Remove/install alternator belt pulley

Check belt pulley on additional alternator for damage and wear; replace if necessary

Only perform if an additional alternator is installed.

Check belt pulley of coolant pump for damage and wear

Replace belt pulley if necessary, see:

Check tensioning device (1) with tensioner pulley for damage and wear

The tensioning device (1) with tensioner pulley may need to be replaced:

Remove/install poly-V belt tensioning device

Check belt pulley on refrigerant compressor for damage and wear; replace if necessary

Only perform if a refrigerant compressor is installed.

Check additional tensioning devices with tensioner pulleys for damage and wear; replace if necessary

Only perform if an additional alternator or a refrigerant compressor is installed.

Install

Lay poly-V belt (3) on all belt pulleys

The routing diagram of the
poly-V belt (3) is to be observed. The poly-V belt (3) should not yet be laid on the tensioner pulley for the tensioning device with tensioner pulley (1).

Swivel tensioner pulley for tensioning device (1) upwards and lay poly-V belt (3) on the tensioner pulley

Check seating of poly-V belt (3) on the belt pulley
