We would like to inform you that installed seat belt extensions exert a negative effect on the restraint system.
The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) assesses various input factors such as, e.g. the occupancy status of the front seats and the status of the seat belts.
A seat belt extension inserted into the seat belt buckle on an unoccupied seat can result in the seat belt and/or airbags also being triggered.
On an occupied seat with seat belt extension, the restraint system's protective function may be impaired.
Advise the customer not to use seat belt extensions because the protection function is restricted and not compatible with the restraint system.
