with CODE (H12) Auxiliary heater
Previous experience has shown that the start of the winter season goes hand in hand with a rise in stationary heater complaints
(e.g. stationary heater inoperative, fails to start, cuts out again or fumes).
These symptoms occur when the stationary heater has not been switched on for an extended period (summer). This extended period of deactivation means that air pockets can enter the fuel line.
Several start attempts should be made until the stationary heater starts up again. To allow the heater to burn off, the stationary heater must then remain switched on for at least one complete heating cycle.
After 3 or 6 unsuccessful start attempts (model dependent) the heater is then locked. The stationary heater can then only be started again after it is unlocked using Star Diagnosis.
To ensure that the stationary heater is always functional, the fuel tank must be at least full and the vehicle should be parked on as horizontal a piece of ground as possible to ensure that the fuel intake is ideal. (Point this out to your customer)
