Power management:
Generally, for optimum use of Drive Kit Plus, we recommend iOS 7.0.x or higher. Apart from this, the latest Digital Drivestyle App must also always be used. Because of the older processors involved iPhone® 4/4s operates pretty close to its performance limits. Therefore, we advise closing all apps running in the background before using Drive Kit Plus. When using Drive Kit Plus, the Internet radio or AUPEO should be set to Pause when not required. The same recommendations apply in combination with iPhone® 5/5s/5c, even when these devices are not operating as close to their performance limits.

Innovation:
The new software update for Drive Kit Plus contains bug fixes, a diagnosis function and it support operation of the audio system buttons
A new software update is available for the Drive Kit Plus. This supports the head unit (navigation, telephone and SYS) button. Apart from this the software update also contains bug fixes for general stability improvements as well as a full-scale diagnosis including control units and detection of any open circuits. To utilize the innovations, the software on the installed control unit must be updated. The software update is for all Drive Kit Plus units with a software release older than 141.2. The current software release is called up in the "Start screen" by pressing the COMAND controller to the front right whereby the iPhone® must not be plugged in.
To update an installed Drive Kit Plus for iPhone® 4/4s the adapter with part number B6 782 38 00 is required. For the Drive Kit Plus for the iPhone® 5/5s/5c the adapter with part number A 218 820 01 87 is required. A USB stick is required for the update. The USB stick is part of the adapter's B6 782 38 00 scope of supply. The USB stick must contain the latest software update, this is available in ODUS at:

"Box and container bodies". The update is conducted automatically when the adapter is connected.
Important:
After a successful update, the audio system button support has to be activated. Activation is dependent on the installed head unit NTG4.5 Generation (Gen. 2 or Gen. 3).
To activate Gen. 2 go to the "Start screen" and press the COMAND controller for approx. 2 s to the front right. Please note that an iPhone® must not be plugged in. Then press the Back button and the COMAND controller forward at the same time.
To activate Gen. 3 go to the "Start screen" and press the COMAND controller for approx. 2 s to the front right. Please note that an iPhone® must not be plugged in. Then press the Back button and the COMAND controller Back at the same time.
A pop-up appears stating that the "Pre-Config" has been written. Following bus idle, the head unit buttons are then available.

Retrofit kit for Drive Kit Plus 4/4s scopes previously installed in After Sales:
For the Drive Kit Plus scopes for the iPhone® 4/4s already installed in After Sales, a retrofit kit for Drive Kit Plus 5/5s/5c is available with immediate effect.

The scope of supply for the retrofit kit includes installation instructions. Separate WIS instructions are available for the retrofit kit.
The respective allowed times are available in Release 03/2014 in the ASRA system.
Please note that the retrofit kit is only suitable for vehicles that have the Drive Kit Plus After Sales solution installed in them (installation location in glove compartment). A factory solution for the Drive Kit Plus as a production-series solution (installation location in center console) is expected to be available in the 2nd quarter of_2014.
