From October 2012 onwards, a new drive unit A 166 890 11 30 with modified performance characteristics will be used and be installed in series production.
Once the old drive unit A 166 890 04 30 has been used up in the Parts Unit, then the new drive unit only will be available.
When installing the new drive unit in vehicles with code 802 (Model year 2012) or code 803 (Model year 2013), then code 122, if not yet available, must be entered in VeDoc into the online vehicle data card.
Additionally, it is necessary for the old
gas-filled strut A 166 980 21 64 to be replaced
by the new gas-filled strut A 166 980 34 64.
Finally, the liftgate control unit (N121/1) must be coded using the Xentry DAS with software calibration number (SCN).
