Modification notes
Test equipment for testing 433 MHz radio transmitters is commercially available.
With these instruments it is possible establish quickly and with little effort if a radio transmitter is emitting a signal or fails do so.
This test does, however, give no indication of the strength of the radio signal or the proper matching of transmitter key and vehicle.
The following radio transmitters can be checked:
- Transmitter key (DAS2b and DAS3)
- Keyless Go card
- Garage door opener
- Stationary heater radio remote control
Test instruments are commercially available from retailers, e.g. Conrad Electronics offers them under the designation 433MHz Test Unit.

1 | Check transmitter key and stationary heater remote control | To do so hold test instrument close to transmitter and push transmit button. | |
2 | Check Keyless Go card | To do so hold test instrument close to Keyless Go card, pull vehicle door handle. | |
3 | Check garage door opener | Delete all hand held transmitters possibly stored. | |
To do so depress both outer garage opener buttons and keep them depressed until about 20 seconds later the LED-display starts blinking. Then release both buttons. | |||
