Delivery condition of steering gear
A Incorrect position at center position of steering gear (the marking on the dust cap does not point to the marking on the steer jacket but instead to one edge of the jacket)
B Correct position at center position of steering gear (the marking on the dust cap points to the marking on the steer jacket)
The steering gear with the replacement part number:
A 210 460 43 00
A 210 460 43 00 80
must be checked before being installed (see picture "Delivery condition of steering gear"). Although the steering assemblies are delivered in the center position, the dust cap has been fitted "incorrectly".
If the position of the dust cap is the same as that shown in the picture (A), only the dust cap needs to be removed and reattached at the correct position as shown in the picture (B). Do not turn the dust cap; instead pull it off and then reattach it.
Specified status: The marking on the dust cap must line up with the marking on the steering gear (B).
