A new test method and a special tool required for this test method have been developed for the complex topic of "Permissible leakage of retarder slide ring seal". The modified work procedure for checking and using the new special tool has been described in the repair instructions AR43.30-W-0056WR.
The requirements for performing this leakage test are described in the newly created document AH43.30-N-0005-01WR and must always be complied with. It contains important information on assessing the loss of coolant, on categorizing the leaked coolant in three leak classes (A, B, C), on the new special tool and on the further steps to be taken after replacement of the retarder.
