Service Information: New reference values for checking brake forces of service brake

The previous reference values for checking brake forces of the service brake have been revised owing to the introduction of new EC directives.

Information regarding the revised reference values can be found in the document AH42.10-W-0011-01A.

The reference values are used in the static testing of brake forces of the service brake.

This test is described in the published work instructions (AR42.10-W-5000A to F, H, J, NA, NE, Z) Checking brake forces of service brake.

However, the reference values contained there are only suitable for vehicles that match the series production status.

For vehicles that have been modified by body manufacturers or companies that perform vehicle modifications, reference values may deviate (modification specific).

For all known, modified vehicles that require deviating (modification-specific) reference values these are now also available.

These reference values are available in the documents (BE42.10-N-1000-20A/B/D/G/J) Reference values for vehicles with modified brake force and they are to be checked with the usual test method.

 Supplements will be incorporated either into the existing documents, or made available in new documents.
