In vehicles with automatic tire chains, electrostatic charges can cause error messages and malfunctions in electronic control units while driving.
For this reason a ground line (1) must be installed between the rear axle housing (2) and the ground connection point (3) on the timing case (4) or on the transmission (5).
The cross section of the ground line (1) must be at least 6 mm2.
When the automatic tire chains are off, the distance (a) between the automatic tire chains and the road surface must be approx. 50 mm.
In vehicles with automatic tire chains already installed, the ground line (1) should be installed the next time the vehicle is at the workshop and the distance between the chains and road surface must be checked.
The installation of the ground line (1) and the check of the distance (a) are chargeable and must not be billed under warranty or goodwill.
