On all truck transmissions with a range group, an oil restrictor (69) must be installed in order to increase the oil feed to the sun gear. If the range group is removed during repair work, an oil restrictor (69) up to the transmission sequence number 379492 must then be retrofitted. All repair instructions which are affected by this technical modification have been revised. To install and remove the oil restrictor (69), new work instructions with the following special tools hollow-piston cylinder, hand pump, hydraulic hose and the extraction and insertion tool have been created.
It is essential to maintain a pressure of 175 bar (specified in the repair instructions) when pressing the oil restrictor (69) into and out of the main shaft (19).
The oil restrictor (69) can otherwise be damaged.
