SI15.40-T-0002U | Service Information: Belt pulley at alternator | 16.6.11 |
ENGINES 904.953 ## as of 350165 in MODEL 436.330
As of engine end no. 350 165 a modified belt pulley is installed on the alternator on the above-mentioned engines.
Notes on replacing the belt pulley or alternator
When replacing the belt pulley or the alternator, it is necessary to check the diameter of the old belt pulley.
- Old belt pulley: Outer diameter 75 mm
- Modified belt pulley: Outer diameter 61 mm
The belt pulley to be installed must always have the same diameter as the belt pulley removed, otherwise problems will occur and/or fault code 1 40 41 will be displayed in the FR/FMR system.
The nut and the snap ring must be replaced every time the belt pulley is removed, whether or not a new belt pulley is installed.
Belt pulleys displaying even slight chamfering caused by wear must not be reinstalled.
The specified tightening torques MUST be applied in all cases.
If, after the new alternator is installed, fault code
1 40 41 is displayed, the following operations must be performed:
- Install correct belt pulley.
- Perform teach-in process "Reteach terminal W ratio" see work instructions (SM15.40-T-0003U) in WIS.
Effective immediately, alternators supplied by GLC Germersheim for all engine model series will come without belt pulleys.
