When an alternator or an alternator regulator is replaced and returned for inspection, the defective part must now be accompanied by a DAS printout of the alternator test and the ME-SFI or CDI control unit log. The menu item "Alternator diagnosis" can be found in the relevant ME-SFI or CDI control unit main menu under "Actuations" or "List of guided tests". The menu item "Control unit log" can be found in the relevant ME-SFI or CDI control unit main menu.

Vehicle data
Customer complaint (to be filled out by workshop personnel)
Fault memory
Ambient data
Quick test
In order to guarantee a specific inspection of the defective part, it is important to specify the customer complaint and further information on the defect case in the field "customer complaint (comments on the defect case)".
The procedure described only applies to alternators with bit synchronous interface (BSS) or LIN interface.
