Service Information: Air filter element

From March 2019 onwards, Actros and Arocs have been equipped as standard with the new air filter generation. The advantage of the new air filter element is that it can be replaced easier during a service. With its ergonomic handle recess, the new air filter element can be changed within a short time without any further aids.

The new air filter element in combination with the new air filter cover is backward compatible . Vehicles as from the production start-up of the Actros 4 (2011) until the launch of the new air filter are converted to the new air filter. The corresponding conversion kits are to be used for this, see tables below 1. For vehicles up to conversion to new air filter and 1.1 Contents of conversion kits.

 After successful conversion, the old air filter element and the old air filter cover must be disposed of properly!

The conversion must also be documented on the vehicle data card as follows:

 From the previous SAA 53908102 into the new SAA 53908128 (for the new complete air filter scope of supply: air filter through wheel arch standard maintenance interval) and

 from the previous SAA 53908112 into the new SAA 53908129 (for the new complete air filter scope of supply: air filter through wheel arch extended maintenance interval).

On modified vehicles, only the corresponding new air filter element must be replaced for any additional air filter changes.

On vehicles that are already equipped with the new air filter at the factory, the new air filter cover is also already installed. Only the corresponding new air filter element must be replaced here, see table below 2. For vehicles as of conversion to new air filter.
