Until now, an interrupted control unit download for the engine control (MR) control unit resulted in it being damaged, which in turn required the engine control (MR) control unit to be replaced.
As of DAS update 07/2009, it is possible to repeat a control unit download that has been interrupted at stage 4/4. To do so, the instructions in the Star Diagnosis must be followed. To repeat the control unit download after interruption at stage 4/4, an encrypted random number must be obtained again via VeDoc.

As of DAS update 07/2010, it is also possible to repeat a control unit download that has been interrupted at stage 1/4, 2/4 or 3/4. To do so, the instructions in the Star Diagnosis must be followed. In the case of download interruption at stage 2/4, an encrypted random number must be obtained again via VeDoc.

The following points must be observed before a control unit download is repeated:
Connect the diagnosis multiplexer (SDconnect) to the Star Diagnosis using the green accessory cable and return to the entry mask in the DAS program - only then will the connection be detected
Shut down and restart the diagnosis multiplexer (SDconnect) before performing a download
Connect the Star Diagnosis to the power supply at the power supply unit
Check that all diagnostic cable connections are fitted correctly
Always use the same Star Diagnosis on which the download interruption occurred
Between the download interruption and the repeat download, do not process any other vehicle using this Star Diagnosis
The engine control (MR) control unit returned to the Warranty Inspection Center is checked to see if the download can be repeated. If the engine control (MR) control unit is replaced, despite a possible repetition of the download, this may result in a negative warranty decision.
