On vehicles with a high-voltage on-board electrical system and/or a lithium-ion battery and/or a gas drive system, before starting any work for a safety assessment after an accident, fire or any problems with the high-voltage on-board electrical system and/or a lithium-ion battery and/or a gas drive system, all the following relevant service information for the vehicle must be taken into account!
For any repair, maintenance, and diagnostic activities on vehicles with a high-voltage on-board electrical system and/or a lithium-ion battery and/or a gas drive system, special qualifications/instructions are generally required in accordance with the given country-specific directives and legislation! You can find out which Mercedes-Benz/smart-specific qualifications/instructions are required for which repair, maintenance and diagnosis activities in SI00.00P0156A. You can find out about country-specific qualifications/instructions from your responsible MPC. The required Mercedes-Benz/smart specific qualification/instructions can also be obtained from Mercedes-Benz Global Training.
Vehicles with a high-voltage on-board electrical system and/or a lithium-ion battery and/or a gas drive system that have not been involved in an accident or a fire and on which there are no problems with the high-voltage on-board electrical system and/or lithium-ion battery and/or gas drive system are deemed to be safe. Repair, maintenance and diagnostic activities that do NOT involve the high-voltage on-board electrical system and/or lithium-ion battery and/or gas drive system may be conducted on the vehicle in accordance with the country-specific directives and legislation with the corresponding qualifications/instructions according to the relevant documentation on the topic in WIS, TIPS, EVA, XENTRY Diagnosis and, where applicable, any country-specific sources.
