The QR code adhesive label enables rescue forces equipped with Internet-capable, mobile terminals to have fast and direct access to the digital rescue cards for all Mercedes-Benz car and smart vehicles.
From the end of 2013 onwards the QR code adhesive labels will be attached in all Mercedes-Benz cars at the factory. Customers whose vehicles do not yet have a QR code adhesive label, can have them retrofitted from January 2014 onwards in any Mercedes-Benz service operation (adhesive labels are available for cars from manufacturer year 1990 onwards).
The rescue card is shown in the following languages depending on how the terminal is configured:
German, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Russian
Also available from February 2014 onwards: Chinese, Dutch, Polish, Danish, Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian, Czech, Hungarian, Slovenian, Greek, Turkish, Bulgarian, Romanian, Korean
If the national language is not available the rescue card is shown in English.
The QR code adhesive labels are attached to the inside of the fuel filler door (2) and on the opposite B-pillar (1).
In the event of an accident the QR code adhesive label can then be located quickly and read out over a smartphone or a tablet PC. All that is needed for this is an app for scanning QR codes that can be downloaded for free.
To ensure that the adhesive label is properly attached we advise having the QR code adhesive label attached by authorized workshop personnel.
Because some model series have a restricted bonding area in the fuel filler door (2) only, two differently-sized QR code adhesive labels are supplied for these model series. The smaller adhesive label is intended for the fuel filler door (2).

Adhesive labels or information signs already attached must not be covered up.
The bonding surface must be absolutely dust and grease free, as otherwise the adhesive label will not be properly stuck into place.
The adhesive labels can be ordered with immediate effect through the usual parts ordering process.
